Cool Classics are what I call these slipcovers! These were sewn for clients recently. The chair and ottoman are done in a white duck and the sofa is in a khaki denim. These are wonderful classic shaped pieces, nice furniture that doesn't need to be thrown by the wayside, but updated and kept in use. I thought they both turned out great. In the middle of doing these projects my sewing machine broke a timing belt and I had to purchase my first industrial machine! But I got them done and the clients are happy. I washed these pieces in hot water and put lots of downy in the water, so they are preshrunk and very soft. There is nothing like white for a crisp look and so cool and classic!
Nice job Gina. I just love working with duck fabric. And you will love your industrial machine! Which one did you get?
ReplyDeleteThey're lovely! I have an industrial straight-stitch that sits unused, preferring my Viking for daily use. I'm sure at some point I'll get used to the Yamoto, but the Viking is so EASY and I have so much more control over it!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new machine. I'd love an industrial serger if I had the room!

It's gorgeous Gina! You da man! Uh, wo-man!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to ask my "sewing machine guy" to watch out for an industrial machine for me.
I mentioned you and your blog today. We covered twin sofas!

wow, what a great job you did, if only I could sew. I had to buy mine, but would you consider making me an extra set for my sofa, arm chair and ottoman? I got them at Pottery Barn so easily could send you the dimensions. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteHeard from Kelly that you completed another slip and just had to come see! You did ANOTHER fantatic job. Might just have to do my love seat like this when I finish my wing chair!
