Wrightsville Beach Cottage

Some folks decorate their cottage with a cool coastal look...others want the cottage to feel like their place, their furniture their style.

That is what these clients wanted, a beach cottage with their own look. These clients are very traditional and wanted to use primary colors. I am a Wolfpack (NCSU) fan...so I love this red and white chinoiserie pattern.

This fabric is outdoor fabric and can be easily kept clean. When sewing with these fabrics they can be a little slippery, and they do not give or stretch. So what you sew is how it will go!

These are the chairs before I slipcovered. They were the grandmothers. They were so comfortable..they rocked and glided.

What more can you ask for?

The tufting wasn't important to the client so that made the slipcover decision even easier.

These are the chairs after they were finished. Both chairs have a lot of matching work that had to be done. The sun was going down on the waterway side and it was streaming through the windows so forgive all my shadows.

Aren't the cubes cute?

Didn't it turn out nice?

Now for grandmothers other piece. A sneak peak of the arm. Yes ....this is peach velvet...it is very well made.

Wow...look how long this sofa is......

Check out the tufting.

With Slipcovers you don't have to change anything about the original piece of furniture. So tufting stayed..we just will not see it with the slipcover.

Finished slipcover...

Isn't it beautiful?

I love how nice it turned out. Long and lean and beachy white ...yet so traditional.

Isn't this neck roll pillow the finishing touch?

This was the clients idea and I think it was a good one.

Grandmothers sofa in its new home....

This is my happy client with her beach house the way she wanted it ...with her colors and her family memories. She was very very happy!
